Day 2 in Busan, South Korea

Date: 28 Aug 2011
Google temperature – forgot to check =x
Personal Temp/Outfit – Hot, sweating! T-shirt, jeans, sneakers

*IMPORTANT – GET THE ALIEN CARD DONE AS SOON AS YOU CAN. BECAUSE WITHOUT IT, YOU CAN’T APPLY OR DO ANYTHING IN BUSAN. AND IT TAKES ONE MONTH FOR YOU TO GET THE CARD. AHHH!!

As promised, here are pictures taken of our lunch. Breakfast pictures were sadly omitted because we couldn’t get ourselves off from a LOVELY sleep on our AWESOME bed.

Famous seaweed soup, apple juice and main course

Main course – Spicy pork slices, beans with ikan billis, stewed fish, radish kimchi and pickled radish.

I’m actually pretty amazed by their meals. Though they can’t be considered as yummy-li-cious, the food here actually makes you feel like you’re eating a perfectly-balanced healthy meal.

So no there’s no sense of guilt for anyone who’s on a diet….
Not that I belonged to any in the first place. LOL.

After lunch, the NTU batch finally grouped together to take a bus to SEOMYEON, which is apparently the DOWNTOWN of Busan – the type where cafes, noraebangs, shops, mobile phone shops gather.

Saw another bigger LOTTE DEPT. But we didn’t go in =x

First sight of the famous food street stalls we always seen on TV!

Lotsa them!

After a LONG walk, we were finally led into one of the mobile shops here to enquire about getting a cell phone. While at it, it’s time for a…

Group shot! :P

New buddy detected – Ji Eun ssi!

But sadly, since we do NOT have the ALIEN CARD, we’re unable to purchase any phone or even prepaid card. *sighs*

So the tired us decided to sit down somewhere nice for a cup of café and discussed our next course of actions.
BUT when my buddy led us to a café, I almost had a heart attack because....

This has to be the most princess-y café I ever seen

Everything in there is in pink and red. Behind these pink boxes are rooms where you can sit as a group in private by drawing up the red curtains. Even the seats belonged to those red cushy types.

OMG!

But it’s time for a group shot anyway.

Usual lovely “copy” (coffee)

Time to fool around with a balloon in a café?

Pretty princesses in princess-y café ;)

After our coffee break, we walked around Seomyun and Charles, our buddy, led us to an arcade to show us something interesting.

It turns out to be this huge disc thing where people sat at the edges with NO BELTS ON, and the disc will spin and jerk to get people to fall off their seats.

And from what I’m assuming, it’s being operated on the spot by a LIVE DJ, who enjoys torturing poor girls who fall off their seats by making them run like those hamsters in a horizontal wheel.

xD

Candid pictures of the girls trying hard to CATCH the WIFI AIR

SISLEY – DERMATOLOGY & PLASTIC
Enuff said xD

Mr. Buddy became hungry and since its late, we decided to head for some dinner.

This time, its chicken.

Pretty princesses have migrated to a chicken restaurant.

The undisputed skin-ship king – Charles ssi =x

Food has arrived!

In the spiciest form (=_=);;

Instant mouth rinse in the toilet! NICE!

We walked around to shop and eventually headed to SEOMYEON UNDEGROUND SHOPPING CENTER. It kind of reminds me of TAIPEI UNDERGROUND SHOPPING MALL.

Trust globalization to make everything looks similar.

Anyway, according to our NTU mates who traveled around SEOUL, things in Seomywon Underground Shopping Center seem to be more expensive than Myeongdong (Seoul).

It came as a surprising piece of news since we tend to think it would be the other way around.
Oh well.

Afterwards, we head to the train station for our FIRST TRAIN RIDE in Korea!

Seomyeon station

And surprisingly, the waiting area is quite empty considering that it’s a Sunday.

The train’s interior

*WARNING – Do NOT sit on the three-linked seats at the corners even if there’s no one sitting on it. It is RESERVED for the ELDERLYS etc. So unless you’re an ahjumma or aljusshi, sitting on these seats will earn you the attention of every passenger in the train.

The train experience was quite pleasant. It definitely wasn’t as crowded as Singapore MRT, quite clean and relatively quiet.

Needless to say, I’m super bushed when I arrived at my hostel room at 11+p.m.

And here’s a shot of my NTU mates to end of this post :)
