Day 4 in Busan, South Korea

Date: 30 Aug 2011
Google Temp – 29*C
Personal Temp/Outfit – Hot, slightly chilly at night. T-shirt and jeans.

We arranged for a timing to get up early to eat breakfast. It turns out that early birds will get muffins and fruits while late ones will get the usual rice type of meals.

Not a genius to figure out which group we belong to xD

Right about breakfast, we head for a VERY short orientation which basically comprises of dorms rules and bank account instructions.

Definitely a different type of orientation from what I’ve expected. *cough*

Basically for Bank of Busan (they have branches within Dong-A), only passports are needed for you to open an account to either make your dorm payment, or to store your cash.

Whatever rocks your boat, I guess.

We head down to BUMIN CAMPUS to have a discussion with one of the course coordinators about English courses here.

It’s WAY PRETTIER than SEUNGHAK CAMPUS!
They even have a museum located at the entrance!

Dong A Musuem

And a 1-2-3-shadow shot!

Statues of little stone men

Cute =x

Brochures from Dong-A Musuem

And a shot of history while at it.

For those who are paranoid about Busan’s weather conditions during August, let me tell you.

It’s HOT like SINGAPORE.
In fact, it’s so hot that we decided to purchase ice-cream! At 50% discount too!

Chio ice-cream!

Equals happy girls!

While waiting for Min-Seok ssi to finish his lesson, we saw this ticketing machine at the cafeteria. For Dong-A students, they have to flash a special cash card and select their choices. The machine will issue out a ticket and they simply head to respective stalls to collect their food!

But sadly....it’s in HANGUL (=_=)lll

But we didn’t eat at the cafeteria though. Instead, Min-Seok ssi brought us to a Korean restaurant to try out TRADITIONAL KOREAN MEALS.

Nice shop front!

Even nicer interiors!

And for 7,000 WON….here is the SPREAD

WAH HAPPY!

After saying BYEs to our buddies, us girls decided to head to NAMPO-DONG for SHOPPING because we were running out of clothes!

NAMPO-DONG

Hand of fame at PIFF SQUARE! Though I cannot recognize any names there =x

A picture taken of a lonely food stall which is located next to a….

Crowded popular street snack =x

900 WON for this extremely yummy sunflower seed pancake!

A WHOLE lane of food stands selling cold noodles

CHIO Hanbok….I WANT!!! (>_<)

Below NAMPO-DONG and JALGACHI train station has this long UNDERGROUND shopping tunnel where you can shop and avoid the hot afternoon sun.

We passed by this interesting shop along the way and Jerbelle head in to find some stamps for her stamp collection.

North Korean bills! I wonder how did the ahjulssi get his hands on these?

And this is one note I could never achieve (O_O)

This banknote is bigger than my face (-__-)lll

Many many zeros!

*THOUGHTS ABOUT NAMPO-DONG – We headed to the place as our buddies said it’s a good place to shop and eat. There’s plenty to eat and chill, but shopping-wise, I’m not seeing a lot of clothes shops around like BUGIS STREET-kind. Maybe it’s because we didn’t know which part of NAMPO-DONG is the shopping area. Next time I’m heading there, I’m gonna get my buddies to lead us around =x

The tired girl after shopping

And back to dorm where we had dinner that strangely resembles morning’s breakfast (=_=)

The aftermath of NAMPO-DONG shopping is seriously OMG. I entered INNISFREE to look for a toner but I came out of the shop bearing WAY MORE than that. (Including a fully make-up face)

Damn, those sales ladies are really persuasive. =/

Anyway, people have always heard how beauty shops in South Korea give out free samples like water and wondering whether if its’ really TRUE or FALSE.
So here’s a picture for you to decide.

*WARNING – The amount of free samples are given to me after I purchased more than 100,000 WON at INNISFREE *cough* I heard such stuffs vary according to different sales person and branches.

Guess which side has the items I’ve brought and which side has the free samples?

My 100,000 WON purchase orz

My free samples (which according to my friends, is considered GENEROUS)

I should stop spending money!
ARGH!
